We’ve collected customer feedback and taking note of frequent enquiries directed at our Support team and have decided to list some tips and information regarding the way we do things to make it easier for our existing and prospective clients to do business with us.

1. Are parcels insured?
- No, parcels are not automatically insured but we do offer an option to do so. When selected, clients then need to separately add the insurance value for each parcel individually to determine the total value of the shipment to be insured, at an additional cost of course.
- We highly recommend that clients look into obtaining their own business insurance that provide cover for consignments or parcels being shipped into/out of or around the country.
- Note that if an uninsured parcel is lost or stolen during transit, neither us nor the service provider is liable for your loss, but we will refund/credit you for the value of the shipping charges.
- We agree, this seems rather unfair, but if you need an explanation of why this is so or just want more information on insurance in general, please get in touch.

2. Why are the final cost/charges on the Tax Invoice sometimes different from the quote/estimate received?
- Circumstances in the logistics industry have become very dynamic and companies operating within this sphere have had to adapt their systems and processes to keep up. This sometimes mean adjusting their tariffs and rates mid-consignment because of some exigencies that occurred (exchange rate, fuel prices, congestion charges, new levies etc.) that was not of their own making and generally outside of their control.
- Also issues with physical weight, dimensions and collection/delivery addresses consistently represent the biggest challenges in determining the final cost of a consignment. Firstly, the cost estimate/quotation supplied by us is done based on the values provided by the customer (or shipper if not same) and it is seldom 100% accurate.
- Mostly, we find that clients underestimate the size and/or weight of the packages to be shipped and when it is measured by our and/or 3rd party service providers using bespoke methods, it rarely corelates to the values upon which the estimate/quotation was calculated.
- Secondly, the addresses provided are also sometimes incomplete or erroneous or we have difficulty in contacting either the shipper or consignee which means a consignment cannot be collected or delivered at the place and/or time arranged and another attempt must be made at a later date/time. If this happens on multiple occasions (usually more than twice), it means an additional cost in terms of time and/or money for the service provider for which the customer remains liable as explained in the Standard Conditions of Shipping applicable to our industry.
- However mistakes do happen and if you see anything that doesn’t add up, please feel free to speak to us, we are happy to help resolve your queries.

3. Are there cheaper rates available than what is being quoted on the estimate provided?
- Yes, but we do not automatically offer those rates as standard fare as the risks of poor service delivery increase substantially when taking up so-called budget/economy options.
- Although these services abound throughout our industry, we have found that it can impact detrimentally on client relationships and we generally recommend against using these options regularly unless there is no rush or unrealistic expectation of the levels of service.
- We do not have standard agreements with any so-called budget/economy 3rd party service providers, but we are familiar with them and can source alternate prices for you should you so wish.
